Transforming Lives, Building Brighter Futures

LIFE Foundation exists to restore hope, dignity, and stability to individuals and families facing hardship.

Based in the heart of Bradford, one of the UK’s most deprived cities, and working through trusted partnerships both locally and globally, we deliver community-based initiatives that provide practical support and create lasting change.

LIFE Foundation is the community-focused arm of LIFE Church, a registered charity that has served the city of Bradford for 50 years, with a strong track record of governance, safeguarding, and financial accountability.

Our Projects

At LIFE Foundation, we believe in the importance of strong, healthy families; we also understand the complexities of family life and parenting. We work alongside families facing increasing pressure from the rising cost of living, social isolation, and limited access to safe, supportive services. Our aim is provide early, practical support that strengthens family life, protects dignity, and restores hope.

Bradford is one of the youngest cities in the UK and includes neighbourhoods ranked among the 1% most deprived nationally. The growing number of children and young people, combined with the historic challenges within Children’s Services, has placed family and early-years support at the top of the local authority’s strategic priorities.

LIFE Foundation responds directly to this need through accessible, community-based provision that supports children and parents together.

LIFE Foundation runs regular groups from LIFE Play, a beautiful, safe space where children can play, grow and connect.

This purpose built space includes a role play area, sensory room and garden, which allows us to use play as a gateway to connect with the whole family. We are facilitating a secure, fun environment in which children can imagine, explore and create. Whilst they are pursuing this, we are connecting and building relationships with parents, and seek to take a holistic approach to the care of the family, engaging them in programs, activities and conversations that will help them grow, restore hope and bring dignity to them as a family.

This holistic approach allows us to identify needs early, reduce isolation, and support families toward greater stability and well-being.

Through LIFE Foundation, we are able to host a regular programme of groups, either free of charge or at a very low cost, ensuring accessibility for families who might otherwise be excluded. These include:

  • Babies & Toddler Groups
  • Baby Massage Classes
  • Lego Club during the school holidays
  • SEN Coffee Mornings
  • Closed playgroups for vulnerable children and their families

These groups offer more than activities. They create safe spaces for connection, peer support, and early intervention.

Over the last few years we have been the grateful recipient of a donation of thousands of brand new, high quality children’s toys. LIFE Foundation works with our partners who are doing amazing and much needed work across the city to distribute the toys to children and families who need a little extra support at Christmas time.

In 2025 we stepped this project up, by creating a Toy Shop, where nominated families were able to come and shop for their children’s Christmas gifts for free! The families also received vouchers for fairground rides and donkey rides at our annual Christmas Spectacular, a free family show we put on each year to bring festive joy for the community.

LIFE Foundation partners with local primary schools to support children with Special Educational Needs. Our purpose-built sensory room at LIFE Play provides a calm, regulated environment where children can explore safely.

Schools bring pupils to access the space as part of wider SEN support, helping children feel secure, supported, and able to engage positively with learning and play. We also make the space available to our local families during the school holidays.

Coming soon: LIFE Foundation is looking to open a much-needed Community Grocery, a social supermarket model that bridges the gap between food banks and traditional retail. The project enables local residents to access affordable weekly food shopping alongside wrap-around support, helping households manage financial pressure while maintaining dignity and choice.

Partners

At LIFE Foundation, we believe lasting change is achieved through strong, collaborative partnerships.

We work alongside a wide range of organisations across Bradford and beyond, providing financial support, shared resources, and practical collaboration to strengthen services for individuals and families. By partnering with others who share our commitment to care and community transformation, we are able to extend our reach and increase our collective impact.

Our Contributors

LIFE Foundation is made possible through the generosity of individuals, businesses and organisations who choose to invest in our work.

By working together, we can ensure our support reaches further and responds effectively to the needs of the families and communities that we serve. We are deeply grateful for every contributor. Without this generosity, LIFE Foundation would not be able to deliver its life-changing work.

Our contributors give in a variety of ways, including:

  • Regular donation through standing orders
  • One-off financial gifts
  • Corporate and community fundraising events
  • Volunteering time, skills and teams.

In addition to financial support, contributors have enabled:
